22/04/2010 - Tooth training!

There is a tooth training night on the 28th April 2010 at Kelso Rugby Club run by the NHS starting at 6.45pm. This may be good timing, can't imagine players teeth will see much brushing on tour!

18/04/2010 - Ayr Tour Information Sheet

It's tour time again and you can download the Ayr Tour Information Sheet which gives full details of the itinery, contacts and what to pack. There are 19 adults and 50 players going on tour this year, playing two games and dodging soap for a whole weekend. The bus leaves Kelso High School on Friday at 4:45pm sharp, so to avoid disapointment... don't be late!

29/03/2010 - Ayr Tour (23-25 April) consent forms

25/03/2010 - Newcastle v Leicester Tigers

After the coaching and presentations on Sunday 18th April there is a trip to watch Newcastle play Leicester Tigers. The bus leaves Kelso High School at 12.30pm for a 3pm kick off. Prices (including game ticket and bus) are 10 for Cougars players and 20 for adults. Please contact Neil Thomson to reserve your ticket on 07779145191.

25/03/2010 - Coaching and presentations

On Sunday 18th April, after coaching, we will be presenting awards and the P7's are playing Madras. A provisional programme of events follows:-
 10am to 11am - P7 Kelso v Madras. P1-P6 coaching or watching P7 game.
 11.15am - Early Lunch for P1-P7 and Madras.
 12noon - Presentations
      P1 and P2,
      Players of year awards for P3-P7,
      Presentation to Madras P7 touring team,
      P7 coaches presentation.
All parents are invited to awards presentation.

Next weekend, 28th March, we have the Selkirk Tournament for P3 to P7. The bus leaves Kelso High School cark park at 9.45am.

23/03/2010 - Kelso Tournament Results

What a cracking day for the tournament with the P7's taking the glory for Kelso. Don't think I've seen a different club winning each age group! Finals results below...
P3: Duns 3, Berwick 5
P4: Jed 6, Melrose 4
P5: Melrose beat Hawick
P6: Marr 3, Hawick 4 (after extra time)
P7: Kelso 2, Marr 1

19/03/2010 - Kelso Tournament

We thank you for attending our annual Mini rugby tournament on Sunday 21st March 2010 starting at 11.00am. We have approx 450 players and 100 coaches/helpers this year so changing rooms are going to be busy and we ask all clubs to arrive early to allow players time to get changed.

Hawick and Selkirk will get changed at the Kelso High School gym hall.

Kelso, Duns, Berwick, Jedburgh, Melrose and Marr will use the club changing rooms.

Primary 3, 4 and 5 will be playing at Poynder.

Primary 6 and 7 will be playing at Croft Park with the finals being played back at Poynder.

The presentation will be immediately after the P6 and P7 finals.

15/03/2010 - Kelso Tournament

The Kelso Mini Tournament is on Sunday and we need help to support the event. Parents willing to help in the kitchen/dining room please contact Ann Hill on 01573225592. Anyone who can assist setting up pitches or helping in general please contact Wullie on 07977891048.

14/03/2010 - Ayr Tour - Player Consent Forms

All players that want to go on tour to Ayr on 23-25th April must complete a consent form and return to Wullie Mallen or any coach by 28th March 2010. There are limited spaces this year so please respond quickly to avoid disapointment. Cost is £25 for kids and £30 for adults and cash/cheques must be submitted along with the consent form which can be downloaded here. Any adult wanting to go on Tour must have completed the disclosure process, details and requirements are on page 2 of the consent form. Note this process can take some time so you need to start now!

04/03/2010 - Stars In Your Eyes

We have the Mini Rugby fundraiser night - Stars in Your Eyes - coming up on Saturday 20th March 2010. Tickets are £12 each with wine and nibbles included. 03/03/2010 - Melrose Tournament OFF

The Melrose tournament is cancelled on Sunday due to unplayable pitches. Hopefully the weather improves and we get games soon. Training starts 10am at Poynder, weather permiting, and the Games Hall is booked if the weather is bad.

27/02/2010 - Berwick games OFF

Games at Berwick tomorrow are off. Coaching will be indoors at Kelso High School gym hall starting at 10.00am

10/02/2010 - Selkirk and Duns games

On Sunday 14th February 2010 we have games with Duns and Selkirk for P3 to P7 at Selkirk Rugby Club Grounds. Kick-off is at 11.00am and the bus leaves Kelso High School car park at 9.45am.
P1 and P2 will train at Kelso Rugby Club starting at 10.00am.

06/02/2010 - Coaching on the green stuff

Coaching on Sun 7th Feb will be from 10.30am to 12.00am OUTSIDE at Kelso Rugby Club for P1 to P7 - bring your boots!

30/01/2010 - Games off again!

The games with Melrose and Hawick on Sunday 31st January 2010 are now OFF due to pitches being unplayable. P1 to P7 training will be from 10.00am to 11.00am at the Kelso High School Gym hall.

27/01/2010 - Games again!

On Sunday 31st January we have games at home with Melrose and Hawick, KO 11.00am. All players will change at Kelso Rugby Club changing rooms, P1 to P4 play at Poynder and P5 to P7 play at Croft Park.

16/01/2010 - Langholm off, coaching on!

All games at Langholm on Sunday 17th January are off. They will be replaced by training for P1 to P7 at Kelso High School gym hall from 10am to 11am.
We now have a group emailing system to send parents and coaches changes or new information. If you have not received an email and want to be included, send an email to admin@kelsominis.co.uk asking to be added.

10/01/2010 - Race Night

Tickets for the Race Night on Sat 20th Feb are on sale now at £7.50 each with tables of ten. The fun starts at 7.30pm till late with cheese and wine then a disco to celebrate your winnings! 09/01/2010 - Happy New Year?

There's snow all around so it'll be no surprise that training is cancelled tomorrow, let's hope it warms up soon!

08/11/2009 - Program Change - Melrose

There's a change to the original program for the game on Sun 15th November. We are now playing at Melrose with an 11am kick-off, the bus leaves Kelso High School at 10am.
Scotland v Australia 21/11/09 - Players and coaches to be at Kelso High School by 1:45pm for the bus.
On 22/11 we have coaching and on 29/11 it's the Berwick Tournament, bus leaves KHS at 9:45am.

18/10/2009 - Hawick and Updates

On Sunday 25th October 2009 it's the Hawick Tournament at Hawick Rugby Club. The bus leaves Kelso High School car park at 9.45am for an 11.00am kick-off. P3 to P7 teams are playing with 2 teams from P4. Please can all registered players attend as this allows the teams to have subs and give players a rest.
After that we have games with Berwick, Gala and Duns at home on 1st Nov.
The new teas/tuck rota is available on the Tuck page where you can also find the food types to bring to games by age group.
Scotland v Australia - tickets still available, contact W Mallen on 07977891048. The final closing date for applications is Friday 23 October 2009.
Please hand in Floors Cycle ride sponsor money to W.Mallen or Ivor Hill.

03/10/2009 - Jed Tournament

On Sunday 4th October 2009 it's the Jedburgh Tournament for P1-7. The bus leaves Kelso High School car park at 10.30am. Please ensure players have waterproof coat and a change of clothes for after games.

20/9/2009 - Penicuik Tournament

On Sunday 27th September it's the Penicuik Rugby Tournament for P3-P7. The Bus leaves Kelso High School at 9.30 am. Please ensure players have a waterproof coat and a change of clothes for after the games. We expect to return late afternoon around 4.30pm.
Players must be registered and paid up to play or they are not insured.

P1 and P2 will train at Poynder at 10.30am on Sunday.

06/09/2008 - Sponsored cycle ride

The annual fund raising sponsored bike ride will take place on Saturday 17th October 2009. We meet in Kelso Square at 10am to set off for Floors at 10.30am and return to the rugby club at approximately 12.15pm. The cyclist who raises the most amount of money will win a rugby shirt of their choice from Kelso Rugby Club Shop.

30/08/2009 - Parents meeting and gum-shields

A parents meeting will be held after training on Sunday 6th Sept. Come along for info on coaching, games, activites, tuck and the end of season tour. Please bring along any kit that your player may have outgrown and we will hold an exchange table, it helps keep costs down.

We cannot provide an Gum-Shield fitting session this year due to a change in working practices at our supply Dentist. This means that custom fitted gum-shields will need to be sourced from your own Dentist, or you can buy the home-moulding types from good sports shops.

23/08/2009 - Dryed up nicely!

The wet weather cleared just in time for 35 boys to start off the new season with coaching. Smiling faces all round... hope we are that lucky all season!

12/08/2009 - New Season Starts on 23rd Aug 2009

Training for next season will resume on Sunday 23rd August 2009, 10:15am to 12noon at Poynder Park. All kids are welcome and we encourage them to bring along any pals that may be interested in having a go. Player registration forms will be avaiable on the day and coaches will be on hand to provide information and answers to any questions.
If you fancy a rewarding role in coaching or parent helping please get in touch on the Contacts page or contact any current coach. All training and child protection procedures will be provided by the club.

Kelso Sevens - 15 Aug 2009

P7s will be playing Jed in their annual fixture before the Sevens final, come down and give them some early season support. Coaches will contact the players involved directly and organise some pre-sevens training sessions.

Registration Forms

Player registration forms can be dowloaded here. Fees remain the same as last year at £20 and this covers club expenses, travel and insurance. It's important also to ensure medical details are known for the safety of players.
P7's went down fighting 2-1 against Jed at Kelso Seven's.
